Caballitos de Huanchaco
No, they don't have little horses at the beach. Those intriguing looking boats that you see in the pictures are called "caballitos," little horses. There are pictures of caballitos on some of the pottery found at Chan Chan, indicating their use 3,000 years ago. They are made of totora reed and while still used by some fishermen, they have become largely a tourist attraction.
